| We report here the non-contrast and contrast-enhanced computed tomography performed in two calves with brain abscess and multiple pulmonary abscesses with pharyngeal abscess, respectively. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography was useful in the diagnosis of these diseases in both calves. The diseases were confirmed by histopathological examination. |

| ハタケシメジ抽出物の白血球数調節作用を調べる目的でハタケシメジ抽出物を経口投与し，カルボプラチン投与後の骨髄抑制作用の違いを5週間にわたる経時的な血液検査により検討した。その結果，総白血球数および好中球数においてハタケシメジ抽出物投与群がプラセボ投与群に対して有意に高値を示した。このことより，カルボプラチンによる骨髄抑制に対して，ハタケシメジ抽出物が白血球数減少抑制作用を有することが確認された。 In order to elucidate the suppressive effect of Hatakeshimeji (Lyophyllum decastes Sing.) extract on leukocytopenia，the degree of carboplatin-induced myelosuppression was compared between two groups of dogs; each group was daily given Hatakeshimeji extract or only its placebo for 5 weeks，and on day 7， carboplatin，an anticancer agent，was given intravenously to all dogs. | 牛臨床におけるComputed Radiography (CR) の有用性を確立するため，管球-カセッテ間距離およびImaging Plate (IP) の読み取り時間が画質に与える影響について検討した.管球-カセッテ間距離は画質の視覚的スコア(粒状性，鮮鋭性)に影響しなかった. IPの読み取り時間は画質の鮮鋭性と相関しなかったが，粒状性と相関が認められた.しかし読み取り時聞が12時間以内の場合には問題にならない程度であると考えられた.管球-力セッテ間距離を再現よく保つことが難しく， IP読み取り時間のばらつきが想定される牛の臨床画像診断においてCRは有用なX線撮影システムであると考えられた. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of X-ray tube-cassette distance and image scanning time on image quality to establish the benefit of Computed Radiography (CR) in bovine clinical practice.
